From the
Border Track, descend through Antarctic beech trees to a magnificent rainforest valley with Echo Falls. Watch the crystal mountain water softly trickle down the lush jungle valley while you rest. From here, a branch of the
Albert River leads upstream to the overlook at Echo Point, which is uphill. Enjoy sweeping
views of the McPherson Range, the Tweed Range, and Mounts Wupawn to Durigan. All of these summits are a component of the
Mount Warning erosion caldera, which was formerly a central volcanic plug. The Bundjalang language group's traditional owners refer to this powerful plug as a "Wollumbin" (cloud-catcher).Nearby is the hike-in only Echo Point
campsite - bookings required.
