Well 24 (Kartarru) is a foul puddle and is not usable water. The track continues on a further 50m to a sheltered grove of small trees and shrubs making excellent campsites. It is a lovely spot beneath a small rocky outcrop and many secluded camps tucked amongst the bushes. A very pretty area with good sunset colours bouncing off rocky rise behind
well site. Be aware that there are many dingoes at this
camp. Do not feed them or entice them close to your
camp.
Well 24 is also known as
Karara Soak, and Curara after the shrubs that grow in the vicinity of the
Well.
