Located on the banks of the Macintyre River on the border of Qld and NSW, the Goondiwindi region offers visitors lakes, lagoons and nature reserves to explore with a side of culture, history and art.

Things to do in the area are:

*Follow the street art, sculpture and silo trail through Goondiwindi to neighbouring towns Inglewood and Texas as well as one of Australia's biggest silo artworks at Yelarbon.

*Free camping (Goondiwindi Showgrounds, Goondiwindi Gold Club, Rainbow Reserve, Yellowbank Reserve, Lees Reserve, Bengalla Reserve), or in town at Rivergums Caravan Park

* 12 pubs (start with the Victoria Hotel in the main street)

* Visit Alcheringa for a guided tour of a 2,500 acre working cotton farm

* Visit Lake Coolmunda
* Discover nature along 8 nature walks
* Visit the statue of Gunsynd in the main street and see the tribute to the Hall of Fame inductee in the Visitor's information centre for the only grey horse in Australian racing history to be immortalised by song and statue and learn why the horse is linked to Goondiwindi.

* Participate in the many events that centre around the town - Hell of the West (half ironman triathlon race), Gundy 400 Offroad Rally etc.
