Moore is a small town, with a
population of only 315. It is located in the
Brisbane River valley. The town offers a B & B,
free camping in the centre of town (maximum stay of 20 hours in any 7 day period), several cafes and every third Saturday of the month is market day at the Moore Solders Memorial Hall and Supper Room
Art Gallery. There is a servo in nearby Colinton.
The Moore family Colinton Estate was established in 1902. In 1910 the railway reached Moore and soon after a
shelter shed, cattle yards and loading bank were added.
Look for the the derelict historic ‘Stonehouse‘, located at the foot of the Blackbutt Range, once a popular coach stop. This former
homestead and inn owned by the Williams family.
