Clarence River Wilderness Lodge - NSW

Clarence River Wilderness Lodge is eco-friendly and a spectacularly wild and remote off-grid holiday destination, situated on the headwaters of the Clarence River in the rugged Great Dividing Range.

With over four thousand hectares of river crafted country preserved in a wildlife refuge that is noted for the diverse abundance of its native animals and the wild splendour of its scenery, this forgotten pocket of Australia is just 3 hours from Brisbane.

A range of affordable accommodation is available including cabins, tree huts, bell tents and camping grounds. Gas powered hot showers and composting toilets. Power, but not city-style.

No pets, generators or chain saws allowed. You may bring your horse, but you would need to have your own public liability insurance for horse riding and your own portable electric fence to hold your horse.

Fire only in provided fire rings (BBQ plate supplied) with wood collected on the property or purchased at office.

Water is sourced from a waterfall on the property or you could take your own potable water.

There is no mobile phone reception. No wifi, except at the office.

Recycling of rubbish is encouraged by providing individual bins to separate
paper, glass, metal and organic materials and guests are asked to take whatever is left home with them.

The gradient is too steep for a 2WD towing a campervan to gain traction. However, the Lodge can tow your camper trailer in and out for a fee.

Activities include gold panning, bush walking, bird watching, mountain biking, free use canoes, hire of standup paddle boards and access to 4wd tracks on-site and at other venues nearby.

There are also plenty of local attractions to explore, including the Tooloom Falls, Bean Creek Falls, Pretty Gully Flora Reserve, Urbenville Pioneer Cottage Museum, local historical sites and many incredible food and wine destinations.
