The 360 degree
views survey the expanse of the Liverpool Plains and ranges. Directly to the east lies the town of
Quirindi, to the north, Werris Creek and to the west the rich agricultural plains.
The current day crossing of the Great Dividing Range to the south at Murrurundi was first discovered by European Henry Dangar in 1825. Although one of the multiple range crossings, this route quickly became the most favored. the plains were soon occupied by cattle and sheep, which still run today.
