This AWD truck was the ration truck used by Len Beadells party for several years. It caught fire during the construction of the
Gary Junction Rd on 12th Nov 1960 about 30km east of here and all their food and water supplies were destroyed. Frank and Scotty were immediately sent to Giles to gather more supplies.
In a joint project between the Toyota Landcruiser Club of Victoria (including some ExplorOz members) the Beadell family, and the
Kiwirrkurra Community, the truck was salvaged and partially restored and relocated to
Kiwirrkurra Community in 2004.
