Durba Springs (Jurrpa) is a popular
camping area on the
Canning Stock Route between
Well 16 and
Well 18. You will need to collect firewood
well before (suggest half a day) camping here. It has ample room, stretching out alongside the creek on grassy banks beneath the
red rock walls. The water is usable for washing etc, even drinkable but water treatment is always recommended. People swim in the water and rangers use herbicide in rehabilitating vegetation, all of which lowers the quality of the water. Better
drinking water at
Well 17 just around the corner. There is an elevated
toilet block at back of
camp with 2 rota-loo
toilets. Here you will also find a donation box and commemorative plaques.
Rock paintings and drovers initials can be found carved on
gorge walls near campsites. There is also a walk track for access further along
gorge to the SE.
