Long beaches backed by high sand dunes, tranquil waterways, wildflower heaths, freshwater lakes,
woodlands and forests make Cooloola a popular holiday destination and a vital refuge for coastal wildlife.
Camping permits are required prior to camping at all sites and fees apply. Capacity is limited, so book early to avoid disappointment during peak periods. Rangers may visit camps during the day to
check permits and answer questions. Bookings can be made on-line.
Teewah Beach can only be reached by 4wd and has seven Zones for camping. Zones 1 and 6 are for tents and campervans, while Zones 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 accommodate tents, caravans and campervans. There are no facilities at theses camping zones.
All campers staying within the Teewah Beach camping zones 1 to 7 must bring and use a portable
toilet for the duration of their stay.
Campfires must not be lit in the Teewah Beach camping zones 1-7. Enclosed cooking using gas or manufactured fuel (not timber or wood) is permissible.
Appliances that are not fully self-contained, such as braziers, are not permitted.
Generators are allowed with restrictions. Pets are not permitted.
