The C128 (Tarkine Drive) skirts the northern edge of the Tarkine rainforest. This reserve is located 10km east of the Kanunnah
Bridge and
Sumac Lookout. When you first enter the Julius River Reserve you'll see the picnic area/day use area with
toilets etc. The
campground is set back another 600m from here. It's a free
campground designed for full self contained RV visitors in motorhomes/caravans. If you are not self-contained please use other campgrounds. Sites are single vehicle bays tucked up into the forest - some areas are very open for large rigs, other more secluded. The area is normally very quiet despite being accessible off a main road. The site offers an interpretive rainforest walking trail through the Julius River Forest Reserve with ferns, bush orchids, mosses, fungi and even a
limestone sinkhole.
The only facilities are a few picnic tables, bbqs and
toilet block (not at the
campsite but near the main entrance).
