Situated on the Myall River and near the Myall Lakes, this old timber town is now bypassed by the Pacific Highway, but still draws tourists to its quality facilities. The town offers a range of
services including
bakery, grocery store, pharmacy, pub and service stations including two roadhouses from the days when the highway passed through the town. It has medical facilities including a hospital.
The
Lions Park free camp beside the Myall River, opposite the town, is
well known to the RV community. It is supplemented by free or low cost camping facilities at the
showgrounds, bowling club and golf club. There is also a van and cabin park at the northern end of the town.
A houseboat base is located just down stream of the town. Bulahdelah is the gateway to the extensive
Myall Lakes National Park.
