Keepit Dam - NSW

Keepit Dam was completed in 1960. It is a major recreational area for the district providing fishing, sailing and water recreation activities.
It's power station generates on contracted water allocations to the cotton farming industry in the Namoi region. Originally with one 6 MW unit but subsequently upgraded in 1983 to 7.2 MW.
Keepit Power Station supplies emergency electricity support for the Keepit Village and dam works. The Power Station returned to service in December 2013 after major works were completed including the installation of a new generator transformer, circuit breaker, automatic voltage regulator and a major overhaul of the turbine.Power is fed to the Gunnedah Substation by a 66kV transmission line.
