Gold was discovered at Mount Britton in 1881 and hundreds flocked here seeking their fortunes.You will find the original township marked out with the streets and some areas of business and residence labelled. This will enable you to step back in time and imagine how the pioneers first lived in this magnificent environment.Many mining leases are privately run in the area and we ask that you show consideration for their privacy and property when visiting the area.Flush
