Armatree is a rural village located on the railway line alongside grain silos on Merrigal Street, just west of the Castlereagh Highway about 1 hour's drive north of Dubbo. Armatree has recently enjoyed a resurgence in tourism with the major renovation of the historic 1929 Armatree Hotel - a task completed by Ash Walker (deputy Mayor of the Gilgandra Shire) and his wife Libby.
