The
Point Danger Captain
Cook Memorial
Lighthouse was built in 1970 as part of the bicentenary celebrations of Captain
Cook's exploration of the east coast of Australia. The memorial also doubles as a functional
lighthouse. The structure is an unusual modern style. The
lighthouse emits a double white flash every ten seconds at a focal plane height of 44.5 metres however there are no reefs off, or running East from this point.
