A total of 29 concrete WWII bunkers are scattered around Towers
Hill in the outback town of Charters Towers in north Queensland.
They were used to store bombs, ammunition, explosives, detonators. They were all covered in mullock from the mullock heap so planes flying over would not know there were 29 little cement sheds down there full of explosives.
