Wooleen Riverside Camps - WA

4 large campsites on the Murchison River with vermiculture (worms) composting toilets. Book with Wooleen Station. Sites are in open, dry, sparsely treed Mulga country on the high southern bank. Across the river on the lower bank which is more subject to flooding there is significant tree growth and understorey with prolific bird life. Fifty black swans inhabit the river and make a spectacular show when groups of them decide on a mass take-off. In August 2018 the river was not flowing, but the waterhole was about 3km long. Quite shallow, but deep enough for a dip to cool off.
