This
historic well was one of
two wells that were established on the Pastoral Lease of Parnell and Bowman in the 1850’s.
The
well was used to water cattle on their way from the Bowman’s
Crystal Brook property that were brought to Kadina and
Wallaroo to supply the towns meat supplies.
The
well was also reports to have supplied the
Moonta Mines in the 1860’s. The
Bute District Council as part of the Australian Bicentennial Project restored the
well.
