The Making of Billabongs.
These holes are pockets of erosion which enlarge during high water levels in the
Murray River. Eventually they form billabongs and become backwaters of the main river channel.
The
Border Cliffs Customs House Walk trail meanders through a wetland supported by the many creeks that run through the reserve.
The wetland flora and fauna are highlights of this trail, especially the majestic River Red Gums and abundant birdlife.
