Information

On the 15th August 1844, during Captain Charles Sturt Central Australian Exploring Expedition, Sturt rested here at Koonunga Homestead, which was the Homestead of the Pioneer Pastoralist, Captain Charles Hervey Bagot.

During Captain Sturt’s exploring expedition, his principal discoveries were the Barrier and Grey Ranges and the Cooper and Eyre Creeks.
