Chace and
Elder Range.
The Chase and
Elder Range on your left and right are composed of
rock over 560 million years old, predominantly the red brown Bonney
Sandstone and
orange red Rawnsley Quartite.
The different coloured strata within the ranges are results of the different sedimentary layers that were deposited when this region was covered by shallow ocean 550 - 850 million years ago.
