Bush camping nearly 1 km from the banks of the Eucumbene River. Denison
Camping Area is located within
Kosciuszko National Park, New South Wales, near the Eucumbene River. The
campground provides basic facilities, including picnic tables and pit
toilets. Access is suitable for 4WD vehicles, and visitors should bring all necessary supplies as no shops or fuel stations are nearby.
The area is popular for trout fishing in the Eucumbene River and offers opportunities for hiking, birdwatching, and wildlife spotting. Seasonal weather conditions can affect access, so visitors are advised to
check park alerts before planning their trip.
If the water level is over 55% then
Lake Eucumbene will almost reach this far upstream as seen in above photo. At 60 % the water is 2.3m deeper and will reach the
old bridge piers. This last occurred in 2005 and again in 2022. No car nor boat access from 2018 as large rocks have been placed across the tracks. Walk-in only for the fly fishermen. Peaceful, roomy and relaxing.
Nearby to the east of the
campsite is Gang Gang Creek and its gauging station. To the northwest is Alpine Ck with an old steam engine and a delightful walk to the Eucumbene River where one may spot a platypus.
No camping fees but booking fee required - $6
