Information

Coolamon is a multi-purpose shallow vessel and was traditionally used by Indigenous Australian women to carry water, fruits, seeds as well as to carry/cradle babies. Coolamons are made from sections of white gum, mulga, river red gum or more commonly from beanwood.

Those with a keen eye will locate many along the Anne Beadell Highway that have been blazed from the Marble Gums.
