Indarri Falls, in Boodjamulla (
Lawn Hill) National Park, is a scenic waterfall that separates the upper and middle gorges in
Lawn Hill Gorge. Indarri Falls can be accessed by the 3.8 kilometre Indarri Falls walking track, one of two walking tracks that explore the western side of the
camping area.
The Indarri Falls track meanders through the dry
sandstone landscape to a
vantage point overlooking the falls on the rim of
the gorge. This loop track then returns via the hilltops and a steep descent down the ridge behind the
camping area. At the falls, refresh in the cool water and watch purple-crowned fairy-wrens and crimson finches in the creek-side vegetation.
It is a moderate walk, with a steep descent, if walked in a clockwise direction. It is best walked in the early morning.
For those that have kayaked up to this point, the craft will need to be portaged around the waterfall to access the upper
gorge. Some railings are available to assist with this somewhat laborious process.
