The camping at Wild Bull is right alongside the Wilsons River at the Cobrabald
Recreation Area in the Mt Boss
State Forest. Wild Bull is the main
campground in the area - two large groups would easily fit in here with plenty of room to spare. There are two picnic tables and pit
toilets. A smaller
campsite is located a little further along the river, known as
The Bluff where you'll find pockets for more secluded camping.
Both sites offer great access to the river and excellent swimming holes - suitable for children. Smooth, round pebbles lay on the river bed and there are no steep river banks. There is also wood nailed to a tree acting as a ladder to reach a rope that
swings from one of the overhanging branches. There are also plenty of small rapid sections the big kids can ride on with their boogie boards. It really is perfect!
With a bit of exploring you'll also discover excellent lookouts, one being the No.1
Fire Tower lookout.
NOTE: no access from the north due to landslide on Bob's Ridge Rd (closed). Access is only possible by coming up from the south along Cobrabald Rd.
