Burke and Wills climbed over this dune on 23/12/1860 They rested here as the sun was hot. Intending to make this
camp 73. However just as the sun started to go down a flock of pigeons flew past heading north. As they knew birds would seek out water they headed out at 7pm with moonlight heading due north. They only rested over night not making
camp.
