This
river crossing is just 2km east of the Barnett River Roadhouse where the
Gibb River Road crosses the Barnett River. In December 2025 a new concrete bridge (see photo) has been built ready for the 2026 season. Previously a 2-lane wide concrete causeway and was more likely to be covered in 20cm of soft sand in May/June while there was still a
water flow. Conditions vary throughout the year and each season brings different conditions so always approach crossings with care and drive to conditions on the day.
