A sound trip plan gives consideration to Accident Prevention, Outback Survival & First Aid, SOS & Emergency Communications. How well do you plan for disaster? In this week's traveller's guide on the top of A Safer Trip, we've provided tips & ideas for How to Prevent & Deal with Risks on the Road.

SAVING EOTRACKME TO USER TREKS

The use of logical naming conventions and adoption of a methodical manner for saving the journeys you track via EOTrackMe is important because the whole purpose is store and retrieve for future use (either by you or others).

We recommend that you break up a whole journey into logical segments and name according to location. Create your own "policy" in regards how frequently you Save your EOTrackMe to User Treks and stick to it. This could be based on a timeframe (daily, weekly etc), or on a logical distance such as a Track (eg. the Canning Stock Route) or trip between two points (eg. Sydney to Port Macquarie).

To save your EOTrackMe to a User Trek, simply go to the EOTrackMe Page, then click on "My Tracking", click on the Save button for the device that you are currently using for tracking, then fill in the required fields.

You can also edit the names of previously saved User Treks by going to the User Treks Page and clicking on "My User Treks". Click on the User Trek you wish to edit, and a "Edit User Trek" button will appear. Here you can change the name to suit your new naming convention.

Don't forget, you can embed any of your User Treks into your blogs so that way you can publish a story that has photos, words, and a map to truly show your journey in a complete and meaningful way to your family, friends and fellow ExplorOzers.
