Hi ExplorOz Reader,

First up we're thrilled to share the good news with you confirming that the recent ExplorOz National Gathering raised a total of $3189.95 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). These funds are being donated to the RFDS Clinic in Louth, who have a list of specific items they hope to purchase with the funds raised. In addition, a much-needed shade-shelter was purchased and donated at a presentation at the gathering to a representative from the Louth Clinic. Many thanks to all of you that attended the gathering and participated in the fund raising activities and to all of you that couldn't attend but purchased online raffle tickets for the saw blade painting. This was a sensational contribution to a great cause. Many thanks to Member - Sir Kev & Darkie for his organisation of a successful event on all levels.

Wildflower Image Bloomin' News - Verticordia is a genus of the big Myrtaceae family that includes gum trees and bottlebrushes. They are woody shrubs with small, exquisite flowers that are often described in superlatives. The shrubs form massed displays in woodlands and heaths. The fringed or feathered appearance of the flowers is often enhanced by vivid and contrasting colours, giving rise to the common name of Featherflowers. There is a great variety displayed within and between the hundred or so species. Verticordia are native to Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Have you got photos of Featherflowers that you could add to the Wildflowers section?
