| Tip of the Week - Before making a new Place or Wildflower entry, be sure to check that a page for your chosen place/wildflower does not already exist. The easiest way check for this is to use the text search function, alternatively you can use the "Browse By" links to narrow down to the relevant section of entries. If you do find a current entry, you can easily add to this using the Edit and Image Upload tools, if not, go ahead and create your new page!

| Bloomin' News - Acacias or wattles will be working up to a golden crescendo about now.
Flowering starts in the north and as the weather warms, gradually moves south as hundreds of species of Acacia rush to complete their annual flowering and seeding cycle.
In the Pilbara look for the attractive Pindan Wattle with its long rod shaped flower heads. In desert areas Dead Finish, Acacia tetragonophylla is a reminder of how tough wattles can be. Further south the beautiful Golden Wattle, Acacia pycnantha in its livery that gave us our national colours, will be getting ready for a brilliant Wattle Day display on 1st September. |
| Forum Help - The ExplorOz Forum is used in a variety of different ways by ExplorOz'ers. Asking for buying advice for vehicles and travel gear, feedback on areas to visit and when to do so, and discussing issues affecting the travel community are just a few of the common posts made. Given the wealth of experience that regular Forum users have with all things Australian travel, it's not surprising that this is the go-to place to receive valuable feedback and advice, and this week, the Forum did not disappoint. Although it turned out to be a false alarm, the Forum was of great assistance to the daughter of an ExplorOz Member, who was told to seek advice via a Forum Post if she received a "Help" message from her Dad. The prompt and knowledgeable information provided allowed her to organise help, so to all of you who responded - Well Done!
