News from the 2011 National Gathering

The ExplorOz 2011 National Gathering in Silverton wrapped up on the 23rd of September 2011, and Dave B (BHQ NSW), the organiser of the event, has been busy filling us in on some of the great fundraising results that were achieved. In total, the raffles and entrance fees raised $3400 for Penrose Park (the location for the gathering). The cheque was presented to the Park Trust last Friday and will go towards installing new playground equipment at the park.

Both the ExplorOz Team and Dave B would like to thank everybody who attended as they all helped make it the success, especially to Sir Kev and his wife Sam for their efforts selling raffle tickets, and to everyone for the thank-you card Dave was presented at the the end of the event.

Prize Winners at the Gathering

Congratulations to Members Greg & Jackie (WA) who won the "furthest to attend" prize (Lifetime Membership) for travelling 2860km from their home to Silverton. Also to Hairs & Fysh (NSW) who came within 3km of half of Greg & Jackie's trip and also received a prize for his efforts. Scrubby won the raffle for this year's photo competition, which was a print of the winning picture "Storm Over McKillops Bridge" submitted by Member - Coxy108.
