New Shop Feature - Map Search |
Did you know you can search for shop items by
Place or Region?
The map search feature in the
Shop uses the same iMapPlot™ technology as the mapping engine in
Places. This interactive map (as shown in the image below), gives the convenience
of searching for maps or books in our shop by
relevance to a specific area simply by
selecting a point or drawing a box on the map itself.
Just click the mouse button while the cursor is sitting within the
map to select a single point, or hold down the mouse button to draw
a box for a specific area or region. Once clicked, the results
(a list of maps, books relevant to that area)
will be returned automatically.
To try it out, just go to our Shop
from the top site menu. You'll clearly see the
map of Australia if you scroll down the
page. Alternatively, click here to go to the shop. |

The woodlines area once supported a
thriving industry that provided fire wood to fuel steam boilers and
engines, lighting, pumping and ore treatment in
the Goldfields area of Western Australia.
Located south of Boulder and east
of Norseman, the woodlines is made up of hundreds of kilometres of bush tracks.
Travellers will see the remains of
old railway formations, lines of rotting sleepers, remnants of old drays and evidence of woodcutter's camps
so this is more than just a driving trek, its a historical journey
ideal for a long weekend trip with the family.

The Ngarkat Conservation Park in South Australia was formed to protect an area that was once subject to broad-scale
clearance of Mallee vegetation. This in turn led to a large decline in many native animals, including Mallee Emu-wrens. This area is typified by low rainfall and reveals an insight into the diverse flora of the mallee scrub
and provides the traveller with medium 4WD challenges.
