If you have some time over
the holidays and would like to contribute some information to the ExplorOz website, then a great section to start isPlaces.
Places is a huge part of the ExplorOz website, where users can search for a place by
keyword or place type and refine the search by state. Once you have pressed the ‘Search’
button or clicked on one of the place type links, you can click
on any of the results and this will take you to the webpage for
that place.
If you are a logged in user, you can submit a place yourself by clicking the 'New Place' button.
Alternatively, you can update the details of a place by clicking in the place and pressing the 'Update Details' button.
The more information you can provide on the place the better. It would also be highly appreciated if a description
and some photos of the place can be submitted. We thank you for your help.Click to visit Places. |

| Article Updates |
As you may know, all of our articles are being converted with updated content and new and improved images.
We have two recently converted articles that you can read and these are listed below:
Eyes on Australia Australia is facing some tough challenges ahead in regards to climate changes. The government has recognised this
and has decided to allocate 2 billion dollars as part of an action plan. Australia is going through a very big dry spell with high
temperatures and low rainfall in much of Southern Australia. On the contrary, Australia’s tropical north has had its fifth wettest
wet season on record. We have had very unusual weather patterns recently with Cyclone Isobel in the North West, Cyclone Larry in
Queensland, the recent snowfalls in Victoria and not to mention the very dry conditions which helped fuel the bushfires. There may be
a combination of explanations that contribute to these mysterious weather patterns and it is certainly going to be the topic of
more heated discussions. Hopefully we will all come up with a consensus to some solutions not too far down the track.
Did you know ExplorOz has a live weather interface directly linked to the BOM,
where you can view minute by minute live weather information? This system now has a new look and feel.
Additionally using the iMapPlot zoom functionality you can pinpoint and zoom into the specific area that’s
of interest to you. To use the live weather system, visit the
States, Regions & Weather page (linked from the Home Page or in the 'Trip Planning' menu called 'Australian Facts'). To choose
a state or territory, hover and click over that area of Australia or else click on a state below.
To use the iMapPlot zoom functionality, click on 'Zoom Map'.
This link can be found on the right hand side of the map image.
