Mt Ive Further Info
After several discussions around a campfire, it was decided to hold our next proposed National Gathering in 2021 at Mt Ive Station. Sth Aust. This is a current working sheep station in the heart of the Gawler Ranges, 247k west of Port Augusta or 127k Nth West of Iron Knob on the Nonning Rd. Their website is
https://mtive.com.au or via their Facebook page.
There is a variety of accommodation ranging from un-powered to powered campsites, shearers quarters, and a fully contained bungalow unit.
The property is dog friendly,BUT, be aware there is a baiting program on the property, and due to being an un-fenced area, all dogs to be kept on leads. They also have a small kiosk for bare essentials, liquor for sale - not a full range, and fuel may also be available but limited.
Access to the Salt Lake is via a locked gate. This salt lake is used for the land speed record attempts. An access charge (maintenance charge)is applicable, but those wishing to do the self drive tracks,a package deal is available.
This event will be held in the last week of the Qld and Vic school holidays, and the start of the other states. Arrival date suggested would be 25th of September till the 30th of September 2021,
As per previous National Gatherings, attendees are requested to bring some raffle prizes so we can raise money for a local charity.
Further information will be made available as time progresses.
Please place your name down for expression of interest, and closer to the event you will need to ring or email Mt Ive to confirm your booking so they have an idea of numbers of those actually going.
