I've been a bit lax with my blogging so here's a recap.
I set off in a flurry of frantic packing on March 12th as I handed the house keys to the ex. That was the deal, and we don't need to go into it.
Suffice it to say I'm not unpleased with my part as I get to go travelling for a couple of years.
It was raining, of course, and the packing was messy as I tried squeezing in all sorts of things I probably don't need. ( a round laundry basket?! - it's gone already).
I was careful to leave enough room for my dog, Busta.
I had a send off by the local Rotary club which was nice, then left
Sarina for good on 15th March. (beware the ides of March).
Since then:
Week 1 Cyclone Ului at Proserpine . What !
Weeks 2 & 3 regroup and fix at
Bowen; still raining
Week 4 Burdekin
Dam - finally calm and great scenery (see
pic)
Burdekin Dam Falls
then
Fletcher Creek
free camp, North of Charters Towers - recommended
and now here at Hereberton near
Atherton, where it's cold & wet !!
All part of the thrills of camping, but I've barely started as this is a 2 year trip, and I've been slow so far, but there's no rush !
I'll try keep this blog going.. and, hopefully, EOTrackMe will be working for me soon.
