I do love a leisurely morning and this soft camping certainly allows that. An easy breakfast, a chat with the neighbours, another cup of tea and no tyres to mend. Ho hum, I could get used to this!

With the low tide at mid morning, we had decided to give snorkeling in the bay a go. Given that the local tide is nine metres here, it all but empties the bay every six hours. This also means that there’s a bit of walking to be done along the rocks exposed by the low tide to get to an area where the coral can exist. It was a lovely little paddle about with a bit of fish

life, the odd clam, some larger brain corals and a
turtle (who didn’t hang around). While a long way from the barrier reef or
Ningaloo, there were still plenty of anemone, clown fish and other tropicals about to make it interesting.

Lunch was had at the restaurant over ocean
views with whales breaching
well out to sea. Easy to spot with binoculars but very hard to capture with the camera due to the distance.

We all walked down to western beach to watch another spectacular sunset. The surrounding
red cliffs were made vivid by the late afternoon light. Another spectacular end to a relaxing day.
Cape Leveque is a very friendly, lovely spot and another few days here would be great but they are full so we leave tomorrow.
