Sunday 17th June, 2012 - Warburton Western Australia

It had been agreed that a racing start would be the order of the day. A quick breakfast and cup of tea allowed us to be on the track west bright and early. We encountered the usual mixed bag of road conditions one expects out here. As expected we had a few breaks for photographic opportunities and paid suitable homage to the Beadell markers along the way. It wasn't long before we encountered the first of many camels of the day. A large mob mooching quietly, picturesque hills as a backdrop.

The convoy arrived in Warburton in good order. Being late afternoon we headed straight to the roadhouse where we set up camp on the rare patch of lawn in the back yard. The roadhouse was closed for trading so we would have to wait until 9:00 a.m. tomorrow for fuel. At least it provided a chance for a hot shower and a load of washing as it will be some weeks before we see anything remotely resembling a washing machine. We had dinner at the campsite and indulged in some last minute re-organisation of the vehicle and trailer loads before bed.
