Another travel day today as much of these first few days will be. All a matter of getting kilometres under the belt as we head north. Breakfast with Jude and then a tour of the new rig before heading up town at 07:30 to fuel up and get a few last minute supplies like oil and Coolant at Supercheap). On the road just before 9 o’clock. A short hop of 400 km today saw us rolling through the last of the mallee into the Riverland and then into the green foothills of the Flinders arriving at Chateau Johnson at 1.45 p.m. It was great to see Michael and the remaining hours of daylight gave me a chance to catch up on a few odd jobs. We had to do our fruit and veg shopping having avoided taking any through then Riverland fruit fly block, and then I finished screwing on the mudflaps, reorganising some of the mess and applying the first coat of scratch-pro. Richard and Lynne arrived at about 3 and he got into the last of the wiring and a quick check of the system. It was dark by this timer and we were joined for a magnificent feed by Pesty and Glenda, Mike and Gills kids and grandkids and Richard & Lynn. A few scotches and a good feed later, the Canadians arrived at about 6.45 p.m. having driven all the way from Melbourne that day (5.00 a.m. departure). Michael & Gill's driveway looked like a used 4x4 lot.

We retired about 10 p.m. into a very crisp evening. The dew was heavy and the night cold as I crept into the new Roof Top Taj (RTT) for the first time.

trip would doubtless be attended with much hardship.''
