Today started on the tar just east of border village and we headed towards Nullabor Roadhouse. The tar trip was made a little more fun with a few stops at the Bight lookouts we stopped at 3 & 2.
On approach to Nullabor I noticed an email about a site problem and once we were in service I started working on the issue with Adele. some 45 mins later having solved the issue we were off again this time heading north pff tar and towards
Maralinga.
We travelled on a good road for about 1hr and we came across Disappointment
Cave. This was a great place and we all went onto the
cave and explored for the next hour.
After the
cave the road becomes a little slower and the trip to
Watson seems to never end. But with the telephone antenna in view and fully mobile coverage we crossed the main railway line.
From this point on it was bitumen all the way to
Maralinga and we made the 4pm rendeavous with Robin from
Maralinga at the
locked gate.
The rest of the travelling group had not yet arrived but within minutes of arriving at the village we were
united with everyone including Michelle's parents.
This started the more relaxed part of the trip for us.
We accommodated ourselves in a donga as it was available and it made it really easy with the kids.
A nice night was has had handing out the t-shirts and a few drinks around the fire
