Packing at the last minute sucks! We had planned/hoped to get away at 3am to get a really good start on the drive. But due to still packing at 1am we decided to defer to leave till 6am. So by 6:30 we pulled out of the drive - yeah.
The weather was not great and between fog and rain it we made our way slowly north. Traveling at the blistering pace of90km average and feeling relaxed.
It was uneventful till about 5km from where we broke down a few years ago and crunch. Black and white rubber and plastic went flying out the back of the trailer as one of our tyres decided to undress itself and show its steel belts. Sruffing the guard in the process. Crap this is not what we need! 40 mins and half a roll of duct tape later and on the road again to
Geraldton to find a tyre
shop.
In town we made friends with the local Bridgestone dealer and equipped the trailer with 2 new tyres.
About 1 hour later we hit a flooded road which was very drivable but something different none the less.
We pushed on to one of our usual stops for the night at
Gladstone. I am so tired writing this i an struggling to keep my eyes open. Good night.
