This morning we had bacon and eggs for breakfast cooked on the weber, it always seems to taste better. We were told that fires for cooking are ok at the moment and if it changed the park rangers would come around and tell everyone.
After cleaning up we went for a short drive over to the
dam wall and beyond. There is some new works happening before you get to the wall that appears to be a new overflow spillway. Perhaps they found the main spillway wasn’t enough during flood times. The
dam wall is very high and off to the south toward the bush the drop and the view is great. After the wall you come to the main spillway, this has adjustable gates to regulate flow, unlike the new one.
On return to the park we found that the 2 fire bombers were once again at work, probably making sure the fire is
well and truly controlled in case the weather turns bad again. The conditions at the moment are mild and very low wind and reasonably high humidity.
