Today’s plan was to do the short drive from the Freycinet Peninsular to Bicheno and spend the day exploring around Bicheno. We stopped along the way at the free camping area at Friendly Beaches to compre it to the River and Rocks camp area. In retrospect it was a much better camp area with more room and not as crowded. The caravan park at Bicheno was quite good and we had a nice site with grass. The amenities were semi on suite types where each toilet and shower were in the same unit within the amenity block. We also took the chance to do some washing and get it dried as the weather has been fairly wet. The town of Bicheno is fairly large with very well established tourist accommodation facilities as well as a small fishing fleet. The bay is quite picturesque and we found a café overlooking the bay for lunch.
