Today we started with a trip down the Huon River to Franklin and return. The trip with Franklin Eco Tours was very relaxing and the crew able to point out the historical points as well as the wildlife. Passing Egg Island we were able to see 2 Sea Eagles roosting in trees close to the river and got close enough to take a picture, unfortunately my camera didn't do it justice. We even got morning tea.

Following the cruise we drove to Franklin where I visited the Wooden Boat Centre and my wife visited the Antiques Shop across the road. The Wooden Boat Centre was an amazing establishment where the new methods are merged with the old and some great boats get built. People can organise to get wooden boats built using the students completing their Certificate by paying the costs and if they wish their labour as well, all supervised by a qualified shipright.

After lunch at a great Café in Port Huon we returned to Huonville and then proceeded down the road to Cygnet, taking the Cygnet Coastal Road. The views were stunning out over the Huon River and then the Port Cygnet Inlet. We took the opportunity to stop and visit another ExplorOz member Kanga1 and his wife at their house near Cygnet. They certainly have a great location with a good view out over the Huon River toward Port Huon.
