Melbourne to Wentworth

Today we left Melbourne after 2 nights in a surprisingly good caravan park at Doncaster East. (Usually the ones near major towns can be a bit rough if they have lots of permanents)

The Park is “Crystal Brook Tourist Park in Doncaster East”. They had good drive through sites and the Amenities were spotless. The family affair went well, so now it’s onto the trip proper.

Today we did the Calder Hwy, lunch at a great off the road picnic and free camping area at Skinners Reservoir just north of Wedderburn, then onto Wentworth for a couple of nights. It was a long day but everything went well.
We are at a small caravan Park Called “Willow Bend Caravan Park”.
It’s on the end of the Darling River as it enters the Murray River.
Our van is about 15 Metres from the Darling River and it’s so peaceful, we are just relaxing.
We were going to stay only one night, but have decided to stay 2 nights, so we can get some shopping done before we leave.
The area is a Fruit Fly Free zone so we couldn’t bring any fruit with us.
Wednesday the 9th we plan to head to Tolarno station between Pooncarie and Menindee.
