Our first complete day in Inverell was spent doing some tourist things and shopping to replenish the cupboard.
We visited the National Transport Museum where the local group have a great collection of lots of different transport history. The collection includes a large number of vehicles from a 3 wheel car to a double decker bus. My favourite was a pristine Mini Cooper S, my wife liked the 1929 Chevrolet just like her father used to own. They also have a small collection of Dolls and period dresses.
Our next plan was to visit one of the local Wineries that had a café for lunch, but on arrival we found they only opened on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This was disappointing as it was a fair way out of town and the publicity material said it was open 7 days a week. It shows that you don’t always believe the publicity material but need to
check personally.
The shopping centre was quite large and had all the normal shops. The pace in the town was definitely country though as everyone was friendly and laid back.
