After packing up from an average
campsite at the
Lake View (if you had binoculars) van park ($20) we headed out to
Silverton to
check out the
Home of Mad Max .We found the
Silverton Hotel and the Mad Max Museum very interesting and
well worth a visit .On the way out by chance we decided to
check out the old Gaol .What a hidden Gem of History and Artifacts of all sorts ,from telephony ,mining ,football ,lodges and anything about the place .
Left the museum and headed back through
Broken Hill. Decided to head directly to
Wentworth down the silver city highway rather than divert through
Menindee Lakes . Lovely
camp site by the river at the van park for the night with
good camp kitchen and amenities. There was a
free camp just out of town that looked great but had no
toilets.

From
Wentworth we drove through to
Birdwood for a few hours looking through the famous Motor Museum. Stayed at the
Mannum Hotel with the Publican Beach shouting the first beer .Good food with cheap clean rooms .Shared bathrooms but at the price you would not put a tent up.
