Sadly the weather as the southern end of the Birdsville Track was not what we wanted for a trip up the track, so on a rainy morning we turned south from Lyndhurst, instead of heading north and headed for home instead. A couple of days later I understand that the camel races were cancelled in Bedourie because of rain. May be next year for the Track.

Since coming home I have put a video together and posted a version of it on You Tube. Photography suffers when carried out through the windows of an aircraft and any images put to You Tube suffer from low definition so the result here is a but unsatisfactory. But have a look if you are interested. The video might help you to understand the layout of the water courses in the Lake Eyre and Simpson Desert area and perhaps grasp an understanding of the shear size and scope of the region.
