A hot and steamy day in
Mildura. The sleep in was excellent but eventually Ali, then Pete, got up and wandered downstairs. First job: tea, tea and more tea; second job: washing; third job: more tea. Then a walk down the main street to pick up a few vital supplies - fruit, eggs, batteries. Back
home to boil the eggs - they make for excellent snacks on the road - then hang out the washing. Mid afternoon saw Henry stir into life to be filled with fuel, including the four jerry cans on his roof. Tyres pumped up and a judicious purchase of another five litres of (the cheapest) transmission fluid. You can never be too careful. Pete also pumped up Henry’s shockies and topped up the oil. Apart from last minute packing tomorrow ready to go!
The briefing at Mildura Rowing Club
The mighty Murray
The official Mystery Box briefing at the
Mildura Rowing Club on the gorgeous
Murray River scored Pete and Ali their rally packs and introduced them to their buddy group. Team 14 is shaping to be awesome. There is a definite Ford leaning - apart from Henry (Henry’s Dream) there is an EA Falcon (Good the Bad and the Ugly), an EB (Fury Road). As
well as the Fords there is a Type 4 VW Transporter that sounds like a WRX Subaru and painted up to look like a German police van (Das Po Po), a 1990s Toyota Corolla (Behaving Badly) and a couple of mad
young Irishmen in a 1990s Mazda Astina (Digger Boys).
