The Army was doing test on stronger maxtrax and they do come in camo!

Army should send them back to Germany or teach them to drive on soft sand ?

They got bogged 36 times last week going through Lorella Springs, and had to call for back up, and never made it to the coast. And they where in landrovers. 3 days latter we went out to the coast in a Hilux and never even looked like getting bogged.

PS: just "feeding" off a previous thread on white lettering on tyres..some people hate them..for some reason ? Black rims ..fine...mine are standard silver + rusty scratches :)

Hey Greg! Its interesting about the white lettering, I have black rims so the lettering breaks them up a little so it doesn't look too much like a poverty pack. But the lettering is designed to go on the outside to advertise the product. Its a bit like buying a pair of Levi jeans and carefully removing the tag. Or buying a T Shirt with a huge Nike tick on the front and then wearing it inside out to hide it. So I guess if people don't like the tyres with the white lettering out, the manufacturer has thoughtfully provided the option to have it on the inside. By the way, I'm still stuck in the sand here !! I am embarassed to say that in the 60's I had Army driving instructor as part of my nashos posting near Liverpool. We used to have special lessons, both theoretical and practica,l for proper off road instruction. Including week long exercises in the Kurnell sand hills or Stockton Beach and in the boggy coastal areas of the military training grounds on the Queensland coast. And yes lower tyre pressures were part of it. Seems our warrior doesn't know too much hey.

I wonder if they were they planning on getting bogged as a long term reliability test of recovery methods not just Maxtraks?

FYI Our lettering on our tyres is on the inside and not in view.
