fair enough on the smart reply in theory but after many webpages and making 5 phone calls this morning and getting the run around I then posted this. Basically it's amateur hour in our national parks and councils and no one knows.

On the Southeast side you do, on the Goolwa side you don't.
A bit more info in the first instance would have been useful.

Hi Gossy

Just like MM replied. The southern end of the mouth is National Parks, where fees are chargeable.

The chap that I now work with was Officer in Charge (police for over 10 years) stationed at Goolwa. When I asked him, he said yes free from the Goolwa end.....but do not get bogged in the soft sand.

He said he has been a few very expensive vehicles lost over the years from drives that did not know how to drive in the soft sand with in coming tides...the rest was history.

Cheers

Stephen

thanks for that. Been there lots of times but never done an overnighter or two which I'll be doing shortly. Just need to pack in the swag, dog and beer :)
